Daily Crypto News

Editorial policy

How articles on this site are researched, checked, kept up to date and kept separate from advertising.

Last updated 24 October 2026

Who is responsible

The editor, writing as Sam Whitfield, is responsible for every article on the site, whoever or whatever helped to draft it.

Sources

Facts are taken from the most authoritative source available, in this order:

  1. Official sources: legislation, HMRC manuals and guidance, the FCA's policy statements, registers and warnings, the Bank of England, the Financial Ombudsman Service, Report Fraud and court judgments.
  2. Primary announcements from the companies, exchanges and projects concerned.
  3. Established news organisations and research firms.

The sources an article relies on are listed at its end. Figures are given in pounds where a UK reader would use them; where a figure was reported in another currency, the article says so.

What we do not do

  • We do not recommend buying or selling any cryptoasset or investment.
  • We do not take payment, gifts or tokens in return for coverage.
  • We do not publish sponsored articles or use affiliate links.
  • We do not invent quotes, interviews, case studies or testing.

Use of AI tools

AI tools may be used to help research a subject, summarise long documents or suggest a first draft. They are not a source. Every fact, figure and date is checked by the editor against the sources listed before publication, and the editor decides what is published.

News reports and guides

News reports describe events at a point in time and keep their original publication date. Guides explain how something works, such as how crypto is taxed, and are reviewed when the rules, tax year or market change; they show an Updated date when revised. If a news report has been overtaken by events, it is either updated with a note or removed from search results and pointed at a newer article.

Corrections

Errors are corrected promptly and openly. See the corrections policy, or email editor@dailycryptonews.uk.

Advertising

The site carries display advertising served by Google, labelled as advertisements so it cannot be mistaken for articles. Advertisers have no influence over what is written, and the editor does not see which ads appear next to which articles in advance.

May we use analytics cookies to see which articles are read? How advertising cookies are used is explained in the privacy policy.
